A bit on the pricey side we admit but a rare chance to enjoy a unique event. The Film Food Club bring you a day of cultural indulgence. Beginning with a screening of Mike Leigh’s Mr. Turner (2014) at The Electric Cinema starring the ever wonderful Timothy Spall as the eponymous hero. A sprawlingly beautiful journey through the the last quarter of a century of one of England’s greatest painters. The phrase national treasure is a bit over used and redundant, but if we were in charge of inducting members then Leigh and Spall would be in. The audience will then relocate for a special after hours visit to BMAG for a drinks reception in the round room, where fine art curator Victoria Osborne will present an introduction to Turner’s ‘The Pass of St Gotthard’ which is on display. A buffet dinner will then be served in The Edwardian Tea Rooms with live musical accompaniment to your dining experience provided by the Conservatoire Quartet. A lot of cultural return for your investment after all.
