Digbeth busts its talent out and shows it off fullsome style every first Friday of the month with a whole creative showcase of cheap and free stuff to experience from exhibitions and late-night openings to special events, club nights and culture in unexpected spaces. This month it’s a feisty free-for-all of fun and arty antics with the Eastern Bloc Disco at Centrala, poetry prose and Birmingham’s premier skiffle band The Prodigal Son at The Edge, Architecture Downtown & lost spaces and Dance in the cutting edge Grand Union space. Stryx will also present #SorrynotSorry, an exhibition curated by Jonathon Harris featuring sonic and kinetic performances that attempt to make sense of the divisions that have arisen in 2016 and Vivid will host the opening night of GESTALT, Alex Billingham’s year long curatorial residency at THE WIG. There will be performances throughout the night with film work. Welcome back.

Fri 3 Feb, various venues 1pm – late. Free/minimal cost www.digbethfirstfriday.com
