Audiences can relive the magical story of The Wizard of Oz like never before, as the beloved tale is told via hundreds of illuminated drones.

Coming to Edgbaston Stadium on Sat 1 Mar, the show has been developed by aerial specialists Celestial, the same team that was behind the hit Evolution drone show last autumn.

This time around, crowds will join Dorothy and her faithful dog, Toto, as they embark on a whirlwind adventure that begins with a cyclone sweeping them from their Kansas farm to the Land of Oz.

Along the way, they meet unforgettable friends: the brain-seeking Scarecrow, the heart-longing Tin Woodman and the courage-craving Cowardly Lion. Together, they bravely confront the Wicked Witch and other life challenges, reminding us of the strength found in friendship and the power of self-belief.

John Hopkins, Celestial Founder said: “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a beloved tale that has been endlessly retold across various genres. This time, it is uniquely presented through drone art, elevating it beyond a traditional drone light show to an epic, stadium experience.”

The show will last for approximately 45 minutes. Gates will open two hours prior and the stadium’s food village will be serving snacks and refreshments.
