It’s back. Last year those magnificent people at Flatpack put together an incredible month long season of Brum related screen delights for us to enjoy and now they’ve returned with Birmingham on Film 2. To cherry pick recommendation is nigh on impossible due to the breadth of quality, relevance and research that has gone into curating this gem. We want to see everything and heartily recommended you get yourselves over to the Flatpack website to peruse the catalogue and buy tickets. The centre piece again is a screening of the bizarre Cliff Richard vehicle ‘Take Me High’ but this time you can get your Cliff kicks on board a canal boat. We can’t wait. The Peter Pan of pop invents a new culinary delight in the Brumburger, you’ll get to sample one at the event, and sings and dances about it through the streets of seventies Birmingham. We kid you not. We’re also looking forward to a special screening of I’m Alan Partridge, Tiswas and obscure sixties comedy The Bargee. Expect daily Twitter updates from us throughout the event.
Sat 9 Sep to Sun 17 Sep at various venues & prices. See: flatpackfestival.org.uk/
