No longer the realm of the bare feet and bearded few, veganism is fast entering the hip fast lane and after chowing down on all that Stirchley Bath’s & Change Kitchen’s Vegan Fest had to offer a few weeks ago we too have seen the chocolate frosted, vegan pad Thai infused light. This week it’s the infamous Vegan Grindhouse and Kitchen Garden Cafe taking the (animal-free) reins as they host a planet and creature-friendly, dairy-alternative, meat-free and almost entirely guilt-free (bad luck, there’s cakes, pies, ice-cream and beer) artsy chow down extravaganza on Sunday with 100% tasty vegan street food from The Vegan Grindhouse, Bare Bones Pizza, Mex It Up, Pietanic, Michael’s Caribbean and Vegetropolis as well as Rachel’s Cake Delights, Vork Pie and lots more vegan treats plus an outdoor vegan bar from Twisted Barrel Ales. The work of talented local artists, creators, and makers will also be on sale at the Kitchen Garden Art Market and there’ll be live music and a family-friendly vibe. Money raised from the market will go to Grace’s Rest, an animal welfare charity for rescued exotic animals. Which might take a bit of the sting out of the inevitable cake and beer excesses.
