Birmingham’s unofficial day of the undead pops up again as the annual Birmingham zombie walk drags its rotting carcass around the city in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Expect gory make up, perplexed observers and sales of brains to go through the roof at lunchtime! There are various ticketing options and make up packages available for the hapless zombie. Now remember kids, zombies shuffle, they don’t run! After the walk, why not rest your weary putrid limbs (before they fall off), by taking in a double bill of zombie films at The Gunmakers Arms? Again to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Brum Cinema Addicts are screening two Lucio Fulci gruesome classics with introductions from expert Steve Green of The Birmingham Horror Group. The Beyond (dir: Lucio Fulci, 1981, cert 18) and Zombie Flesh Eaters (dir: Lucio Fulci, 1979, cert 18) were both on the infamous list of banned video nasties in the early 80’s and contain, quite literally, eye popping gore. Sick bags not provided!
