As any household with kids under double-digits is likely to know, Julia Donaldson is fast becoming a Christmas holiday tradition as solid as setting fire to the Xmas pud. With the animated versions of the Gruffalo (and offspring), Room on The Broom and Stickman, Donaldson has created an extra special layer of festive fun for the UK’s children over the past few years and this year we’re lucky enough to have the joys of What The Ladybird Heard adapted for the stage and set against the stunning backdrop of Birmingham’s Town Hall. Live music, magical puppetry and plenty of audience participation will bring Donaldson’s colourful story of the brave Ladybird and all her animal pals to life. Suitable for age 3+ and approximately an hour long adventure of songs, dancing and interactive fun, this is very much a fun tale cleverly adapted to capture the imagination of even the youngest audience members.
