Brum promoters This is Tmrw deliver an outstanding line-up of guitar-wielding talent, each showcasing new music that’s ready to drop. Indie-shoegaze kings Victories at Sea will be revealing the first glimpse of their new EP ‘A Place to Stay’, likely to be another exquisite slice of expansive melancholy to overwhelm the senses. Renowned noise-pop saboteurs Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam have been teasing a new album for the summer, but either way their reputation for bludgeoning guitars, death-stares and the relentless chants of a protest march precede them. Turn up even earlier, though, and you’ll get the benefit of krautrock drone-rockers Mutes, whose gut-punching new single ‘A Burial’ suggests their debut album will be a sprawling, headache-inducing, glorious post-punk noise. If you ever have any doubt of Birmingham’s rich seam of alternative rock music, come to the Hare & Hounds to get those misconceptions promptly blasted out your skull.
