A massive hot air balloon festival will take to the skies above Telford over August bank holiday weekend.

The annual Balloon Fiesta will be taking place at Telford Town Park’s QEII Arena from Fri 23 Aug – Sun 25 Aug. Along with spectacular balloon flights, the weekend’s programme will feature a packed lineup of family-friendly entertainment.

Kicking off the festivities on Friday is the Night Glow Spectacular. The opening event is ticketed, family tickets are £5 for up to five people, while individual tickets are priced at £2 per adult and £1 per child.

Saturday and Sunday are completely free to attend, with additional entertainment including the incredible Wings Parachute Team, live music, the We Are Telford Carnival Parade, circus workshops and performances as well as pop-up food and drink traders.

Organisers have reminded attendees that the weekend’s balloon flights will be weather-dependent, with launches pencilled in for 6am and 6pm.

Cllr Angela McClements – Cabinet Member for Leisure, Tourism, Culture & the Arts said: “This really is one of our stand-out events in the Council’s event programme and we are looking forward to another fantastic weekend drawing in visitors from across the region and indeed the country. There are new events and shows booked in this year as well as the favourite activities that our visitors love. The public have chosen the two shape balloons that will be appearing and we can’t wait to see these making their appearance at the Fiesta.

Friday’s Night Glow Spectacular will be kicking off at 5pm, while Saturday and Sunday’s programme is scheduled from 12pm – 7pm. For more information and updates, you can find the official event page here.
