Think big? Love this city? Want to share some big ideas with fellow Birmingham folk and get some inspiration for change and development? Get along to TedxBrum. Now in its fourth year, TEDxBrum is an independently organised and volunteer led event that runs in conjunction with the global initiative of TED to spread ideas. The TEDx program began in 2009 to enable individuals and communities worldwide to hold locally relevant and independent events. Birmingham is just one of these unique think tanks where community creativity can come together. Showcasing talks from local thought leaders and featuring the best in homegrown talent, the event also aims to inspire dialogue and encourage collaboration as well as assert confidence in our civic identity. The events continue throughout next week at the TedxBrum City Camp festival with everything from a Radical Childcare workshop on Tues 14th June with keynote speakers to If You Build It & Urban Experiments on Wednesday 15th June & Friday 17th June where you can join a group of innovative practitioners from across Europe for a hack day exploring how to create spaces we enjoy, admire and play in. We will also be screening If You Build It, which offers a hopeful vision for a new kind of classroom in which students learn the tools to design their own futures. See: here for all details of other events.
