What a night this promises to be. Supersonic Festival have brought together Birmingham’s own legendary left field techno innovator Surgeon, snooker loopy beats from Mr Interesting himself Steve Davis, cult Iranian psych rocker Kavus Torabi and the inimitable DJ Bus Replacement Service. Surgeon needs no introduction around these parts, his dark industrial beats are battered into techno mythology. Eclectic, dark, moody and hugely influential. The Romford Robot (Davis) and Torabi have been presenting ‘The Interesting Alternative Show’ on Phoenix FM since 2010, a scattergun mix of the experimental and psychedelic with most things in between thrown in with a curmudgeonly glee, their sparky banter is hilarious. Torabi has possibly the most interesting musical CV ever composed working with Gong, Cardiacs, Guapo and The Medieval Babes to list just a few. The most interesting gig in Birmingham this year? Without doubt. Tickets are strictly limited to 250 so don’t hang about.
