Outdoor Cinema at the Custard Factory
The Mockingbird and Factory Cinema Co. have formed a joyous sunshine alliance to convert the Custard Factory courtyard into a glorious summer outdoor cinema space for August bank holiday weekend. Lush artificial grass; street food, bar, a mini park right in the middle of Digbeth, bring cushions and blankets but we’re convinced the sun will be blazing down. Five films in three days with the emphasis on big fun movies and audience participation. Dig the basque and sussies out of the wardrobe and ‘Do The Timewarp’ to Richard O’ Brien’s timeless high camp classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. ‘Summer loving had me a blast’, Grease on an outdoor screen has got everyone at Wire ridiculously excited; leather, quiffs, big hair and shocking singing voices at the ready. There are prizes for the best fancy dress and evening screenings are followed by a free after party. Also lined up are Back To The Future, Batman (1989) and Lion King.
