Bohdan Piasecki, host of Birmingham’s most eclectic and consistently entertaining poetry and spoken word night ‘Hit the Ode’, is tri-lingual. Maybe that’s what enables him to regularly coax some of the world’s most engaging poets to perform upstairs at a pub in our city centre. His disarming and witty wordsmithery provides a warm welcome to these special nights. This ‘Hit the Ode’ features performances by Leicester-based Shruti Chauhanm, London Poetry Award winner Dean Atta and Nuno Piteira, reigning Portuguese poetry slam champion and European Poetry Slam Champion. It will be a word feast. If you aren’t already a live poetry enthusiast ‘Hit the Ode’ with its friendly vibe and heavyweight lyricism might well turn you into one.
