Seasonal Markets has upped their ‘ever-fresh’ ante for their summertime canalside street food fest, with a Veggie & Vegan Festival set to fire up summertime appetites, imaginations and fuel for the heart, soul and discerning belly of Birmingham. Hopping off the (super successful) cheese bandwagon of the Spring Market which saw over 2000 people descend on Digbeth’s waterways and indoor/outdoor market space at The Bond Company, the Summer Market promises a plant-based extravaganza with absolutely no compromise on the flavour, taste-trend and ultimate indulgence front. Meat-free feasting and gourmet treats will come courtesy of a range of traders old and new, all competing for your loose change with the the hottest, freshest, tastiest street food available earthside. Highlights include UJuice, juicing pros with their vegan bowls and snacks too, Bamboo Street Food’s BBQ kebabs and bao buns, newbies Puckin’ Poutine’s jackfruit and mushroom chilli poutines, a quirky Colombian inspired menu from Kanassa and Cheese Festival favourites BA-HA Vegan Cheeses. Liquid refreshments will follow the wildly innovative theme with natural, vegan and craft wines, Dig Brew Co.’s vegan craft beer range and the Cocktail Caravan offering summertime mixers and fizz by the glass and bottle. Add over 30 artists, makers and artisan food stalls, all with an ethical, vegan and plant-based slant offering up vegan streetwear to raw chocolate and you have the kind of super-fuelling day out your planet, wallet and tastebuds will thank you for. Summer soul food – and some.
