Under the skin. What was once private now faces full-frontal exposure as we step out of our binary confines into new, unknown gender territories. Are you a girl or a boy? What was your old name? What’s the point of transitioning if you date girls anyway? Are you a top or a bottom? This ground-breaking new production about the business-end of gender cuts straight to the chase, raising the often invasive preconceptions that attempt to define who we are, and the many ways these are – often violently – policed. Devised by new company Outbox Theatre and working with performers from across the queer community, And The Rest Of Me Floats collages autobiographical stories, physical theatre, spoken word, pop music, stand-up and dress-up in an anarchic celebration of non-conformity, body politics, the power of metamorphosis – and ultimate reclamation of what is uniquely ours. See more about SHOUT Festival of Queer Arts here. Included in tickets price is Ultimate Lad, a story about growing up, about belonging, fathers and sons, being a man, being yourself, and being trans.
