A popular Birmingham restaurant will invite diners to dine in complete darkness this Valentine’s Day.

The one-off evening, which returns to Orelle on Sun 16 Feb, will feature an exclusive four-course menu created by Executive Chef, Kiran Suvarna.

The special event welcomes guests to dine 24 floors above the city with thousands of candles and the city lights of the surrounding cityscape as the only sources of light.

The four-course menu, priced at £100pp for a standard table and £120 per person for a premium window table, includes:

Hors D’oeuvre – Huître/Oysters – Warm and cold oysters, mergeuz sausage, calamansi, mignonette

Premier Plat – Homard/Lobster – Roasted native lobster ravioli, bisque sabayon, chervil

Plat PrincipaI – Boef/Beef – 32 days dry aged beef fillet, truffle potato puree, glazed carrots, broccolini, sauce bordelaise

Dessert – Paris Brest/French pastry – Pistachio praline, hazelnut cremeux, rose and raspberry

Each dish has a vegan alternative upon request.

Executive Chef, Kiran Suvarna, said “At Orelle, we’re passionate about creating unforgettable dining experiences. This Valentine’s Day, our Blackout Dinner will take guests on a sensory journey that goes beyond taste – celebrating exquisite food, drinks, and breathtaking views. Whoever your Valentine’s date is, join us for a romantic evening designed to enchant your palate and elevate your senses.”
