You know the deal: head down early to snap up your headphones, get a few rounds in, then make a beeline for the dance floor… This is the Actress and Bishop’s locally renowned silent disco, the cool equivalent of an iPod party, quieter than your average rave but always uproariously fun. You know this already, of course, but the logistics of a silent disco mean there’s a certain level of flexibility to be enjoyed in terms of music choice, and on the night there’ll be two DJs vying for your attention, so if you’re not into what’s playing on the one channel, just switch to the other. Easy – it’s effectively two rooms in one. And you know as well as anyone how surreal it is to take off your headphones to a chorus of voices chanting the words to ‘Wonderwall’ like a gaggle of rowdy football fans. Especially if you were just listening to Abba. Historically, this is the Actress and Bishop’s most popular night, so if you don’t know the deal already, why on earth not?
