This weekend one of the most exciting music ventures Birmingham has seen in recent years will take place at Centrala. Inspired by the North London underground scene of Fun-De-Mental, the birthplace of acts such as Orbital, Headspace and Pressure of Speech, Oscillate was brought into the limelight in the 90’s, receiving rave reviews from the likes of The Observer and even hosting electronic legends Autechre. Although Birmingham was the original home of Oscillate, it wasn’t bound by that, reaching as far afield as Amsterdam for a 2,000 capacity event in a disused gas holder with ice sculpted chairs and an incredible line-up of live acts. But despite all the other elements, Oscillate has always been about the music. Specifically live electronic music. Be there for its return.

Fri 15 Sep at Centrala, Unit 4, Minerva Works, 158 Fazeley Street, Birmingham B5 5RT. 11pm – 4am. £5 on the door. www.facebook.com
