It’s the final dosage of experimental music freakery from Supersonic Festival before the year implodes in on itself: at the top of the bill, one man doom-tuba outfit ORE performs his brand new album ‘Belatedly’, which is released on Box Records this month. ‘Belatedly’ is dark and enveloping, ambient but engrossing: a meditation on mortality, channeled into hypnotic, bassy brass drones, punctuated by percussion and gasps for breath. The evening’s other acts are no less uncompromising: drum-driven, live visuals-and-noise collaboration Adrena Adrena; minimalistic no wave punks Health & Efficiency; the disobedient noise of carnival punks ILL. Supersonic keep finding ways to outdo themselves with the wild musical exploration of their line-ups; and with all this sonic adventuring, and DJ sets running til late, the £5 ticket price (adv) is simply a steal.
