An innovative fine-dining restaurant that will blend authentic Greek cuisine with contemporary gastronomy is set to open in Birmingham next week.

Located in the heart of the Colmore Business District at the former All Bar One space in Bruntwood SciTech’s Grade II-listed Cornwall Buildings on Newhall Street, Cylla draws inspiration from the legendary Greek sea monster Scylla, promising a dining experience that celebrates ‘the perfect harmony of sea and land.’

Under the guidance of General Manager Adonis Maniadakis, whose Greek heritage has been central to Cylla’s vision, the restaurant aims to bring a sophisticated approach to Mediterranean dining, with a menu featuring classics such as Lamb Kleftiko, Beef Stifado, Moussaka, Greek salad, Tzatziki, and fresh homemade pitta bread. All dishes are described as elevated with modern presentation and seasonal British produce.

Cylla’s drinks offering is also a key part of the experience, complete with a diverse selection of premium Greek wines and handpicked European labels. Guests can also opt for a variety of expert Mediterranean-inspired cocktails, featuring ingredients like mastiha, and traditional Greek spirits to perfectly complement the culinary offerings.

The restaurant’s interior design has been crafted with subtle references to Greek architecture, building a ‘sophisticated and glamourous’ atmosphere that suits both intimate dinners and special occasions.

Featuring a 6-metre bespoke bar, ambient lighting, and art inspired by the islands, the restaurant is built to be both a luxurious dining destination and a lively social space. Even the plates have been custom-designed with every detail carefully selected to enhance the presentation and overall guest experience.

Adonis Maniadakis, General Manager of Cylla, said:  “I’m thrilled to be opening Cylla, and to be able to share my Greek heritage with the city of Birmingham. We want to deliver a really unique experience to our guests, which transports them to the shores of the Greek Islands. Cylla is an elevated take on traditional Greek cuisine –  we’ve created a touch of glamour whilst retaining the authentic flavours and  warmth of Greek hospitality. We can’t wait to welcome the first guests through our doors at the Cornwall Buildings – see you soon!”

Matt Pazos, Retail Commercial Manager for Bruntwood SciTech added: “Cylla makes a fantastic addition to the historical Cornwall Buildings – a space steeped in heritage and charm – as well as being a real coup for Birmingham’s culinary scene. We look forward to seeing Cylla make its mark in the bustling Colmore Business District over the coming months with its innovative approach to fine dining.”
