Legendary Haçienda DJs Mike Pickering and Graeme Park join forces with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra for the final day of MADE Birmingham 2016. Foreshadowing the rise of superclubs such as Gatecrasher and the Ministry of Sound, The Haçienda set the UK alight during its reign at the forefront of the nascent acid house scene in the late ‘80s, catalysing what has since been dubbed the Second Summer of Love. Continuing electronic music’s endless quest for innovation, Haçienda Classical fearlessly combines the seemingly incompatible styles of acid house and classical music, with a seamless mix of classic Haçienda tracks selected by Pickering and Park themselves being complemented by a forty-strong orchestra. Also set to appear is co-founder of seminal Manchester bands Joy Division and New Order, Peter Hook, who will be performing an electronic New Order set with his band The Light. There is truly no other act in the world like this.
