Getting lost in Longbridge might not be everyone’s idea of the perfect Friday night, but this art preview might just change your mind. It’s no secret that Longbridge has undergone some changes since the car factory closure in 2005, and the regeneration of the town centre more recently. But how do those changes alter and transform the community itself? From teenagers to adults, children to OAPs, get lost in the collective and varied thoughts and listen to the music/see the sights that the inhabitants of this ever-changing town experience daily. In collaboration with LPAP by Werk, Sarah Silverwood has delved into the cultural highs and lows of Longbridge using a technique called Mass Observation, combining visual arts with research to create an installation that is truly extraordinary and wholly immersive.

Fri 10 Feb, 5pm – 8pm, at Longbridge Public Art Projects Space at College St, Longbridge, B31 2US. Free. Exhibition runs until Sat 25 Feb. www.sarahsilverwood.com
