Lisa Hannigan’s gentle, haunting embrace of a voice should always rightfully have had her in the full spotlight of attention rather than on the sidelines as Damien Rice’s lesser-known sidekick (as-was). Not short of accolades, interest and success, her first solo album, Sea Sew in 2008, earned her Choice Music Prize and Mercury Prize nominations and she followed it up with the chart topping Passenger topping that with contributions to TV & film scores from the cover of ‘Danny Boy’ for the TV series Fargo to vocals for Steve Price’s scores for Gravity (which won an Oscar). Hannigan has also recorded and toured for the Way To Blue – The Songs Of Nick Drake project (see link here) and she returns now with a new highly anticipated album At Swim with those exceptional vocals driving yet more beautiful, thoughtful and clever melodies. Take this opportunity to see her in intimate surrounds while she remains on the lowdown.
