The annual Kings Heath Street Festival returns bigger and brasher than ever. Now expanded to include the Village Square it’s going to be huge with live music from local bands across three stages. Our favourites include the heavy sludge blues noise of The Swampmeat Family Band, who will be bustin’ their rockabilly guts all over the Hare and Hounds stage. We’re total suckers for horns at Birmingham Wire so we will be making sure we catch the shiny Bostin’ Brass on the same stage. Also appearing are the energetic cow punks Rhino and the Ranters and on The Kitchen Garden stage The Dirty Old Folkers will be peddling their glorious brand of hilarious pantomime folk histrionics. Throw in street food, activities, workshops and market stalls and it’s looking like a damn good day out. Oh did we mention it’s free.
