Hardly a weekend has passed since it opened in Feb without us visiting our new favourite Moseley haunt Zindiya. Like a bar with benefits, Saturday and Sunday evenings are packed to the rafters with street-food fans guzzling the crazy-cool cocktails (from a coconut no less!) and chowing down on its glorious shiny trays of funky Street Food flavours – you’d better have booked though. Having failed to secure said evening table in advance one week, we thought we’d really test their hospitable mettle by dragging some friends and their kids along in the daylight. The result? A super-successful afternoon out for all our tribe of wildlings – including the spice-fearing beige-loving under-4s. We weren’t alone either, with a fair few family gatherings taking advantage of the ‘family-run’ hospitality and ace kids menu (£6.95 inc drink, main course and dessert). The snappy Little Zindiya menu even managed to give the adults some serious food-envy issues. We especially loved the Chole Bhature fluffy fried flatbread with a chunky chickpea dip and the subtle-enough spiced Amritsari Fish & Chips went down a treat with the little fries-loving sophistikittens. And the outrageously tasty Kati Roll had to be pretty much stolen out of the mouths of said (bad) babes, they preferred the choc puddings. We stopped short of dabbling in the delicious array of cocktails this time, but there’s draught Indian pale ale from Purity, an inventive array of alcohol-free cocktails £5 (long live the boozy coconut) and funky soft drinks, or a perfectly brewed afternoon masala chai £2. Overall result of kids-meet-Zindiya? Still a massive Thumbs Up.
