This September, Birmingham Royal Ballet take inspiration from one of the city’s most iconic musical exports in Black Sabbath – The Ballet.

A riveting stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s world-famous novel about racial injustice and childhood innocence, To Kill a Mockingbird, comes to Birmingham in 2026.

Developed by Oscar-winning writer Aaron Sorkin, the Broadway and West End sensation will embark on its first-ever UK and Ireland tour, with a run at Birmingham Hippodrome next April.

A spectacular stage adaptation of one of the greatest movies of all time comes to The Alexandra next year. The Shawshank Redemption, which was nominated for seven Academy awards, has been reworked by Owen O’Neill and Dave Johns for the stage, with Joe McFadden starring in the role of the wrongly convicted Andy Dufresne, Ben Onwukwe taking the role of Ellis ‘Red’ Redding, and Bill Ward playing corrupt prison warden Stammas.
