There was a time when politics and music actually meant something beyond the febrile posturing of sunglasses-wearing rock tyrants. The problem ‘skinhead’ bands like the Upstarts had, back in the 80’s, was that the majority of their bald-headed followers enjoyed politics of the far right kind and weren’t shy about booting it into others. It didn’t stop Mensi & co belting out some cracking polemical pro-socialist, anti-fascist anthems though. If the sight of grown men jumping up and down getting sweaty on nostalgia works for you, then there’s only one place to be really. Oi oi!
