The classically trained duo of fiddler Catriona Price and harpist Esther Swift have been making beautiful melodious music together for a decade. Uniquely blending folk with a sophisticated whiff of modern jazz and classical they never feel like a duo and describe themselves as a two person quartet. Twelfth Day create imaginatively subversive folk music whilst cheekily bending the very barriers of the genre they inhabit with subtle panache. Not afraid to tackle edgier themes new album ‘Cracks in the Room’ is an adventurous statement of musical and lyrical intent. The Syrian themed ‘Another Phase in History’ is a touchingly prescient classic. A stunning double bill is completed by Emily Mae Winters, whose own album ‘Siren Serenade’ is released this month.
