A match made in punk rock heaven. Legendary poet John Cooper Clarke and Stranglers main man Hugh Cornwell have hand picked 10 classic pop songs they grew up with to produce the surprising album ‘This Time It’s Personal’. With ne’er a spoken word syllable uttered from Salford’s finest as he becomes a lead vocalist for the first time at the grand old age of 67. Cornwell takes painstaking care of guitar duties. The album is released on Oct 14 but the wonderful ‘MaCarthur Park’ is available for download now. We love it when our favourite artists throw a hand grenade under our expectations. Please note venue has changed from O2 Institute to O2 Academy on the same evening, original tickets are still valid.
