Dirty rock and roll doesn’t come any scuzzier than the suited and booted cockney lads The Godfathers. We first came across these noise boys in 1985 when The Sid Presley Experience railed their guitars against a bored Dudley JB’s audience confused by the smart racket and gorged on goth. Well we took notice. We even recorded it (if only I could find that cassette now). The SPE became The Godfathers and they are still going strong and they still make an almighty noise. With three decades worth of back catalogue to fill their set we are excited to see what classics they perform. So long as ‘Birth, School, Work, Death’ is in there we’ll be happy. Now go look up the Don Letts directed video for ‘She Gives Me Love’. Hup, Two, Three, Four.
