Good news for Birmingham is that the excellent Supersonic Festival will be back next year with its eclectic mix of experimental art, music and sound to warp, nurture and corrupt your febrile minds. To celebrate this momentous announcement you need to get yourselves down to the launch party at the cosy Centrala Gallery. Two days of music for curious audiences. Friday night’s main event is a collaborative improv clash between the Dirty Three’s Jim White and George Xylouris. Drums versus Lute. Saturday’s headliners are Giant Swan, an experimental barrage of noise, bleeps and energy. No two sets are ever the same. There are a raft of other exciting artists over both days but we’re most looking forward to the local hardcore thrash mayhem of Birmingham’s own Stinky Wizzleteat and noise duo Mothwasp. There may be flashing lights kids.
