Mashing musical genres imaginatively with a powerfully knowing and thoughtful polemic are the Sonics trademark. The message always hits home. Bundles of electric energy live the ease with which they can slip between styles from piledriving anthems like ‘Virus’ to the sedate ska beauty of ‘A Little Bit of Reggae’ is astonishing. Get ready to mosh, toast and pump your fist in the air. Fifth album ‘The F-Bomb’ has just been released and if they play the presciently jolly ska ditty ‘From the Fire to the Frying Pan’ we will be jumping up and down. They remind us of a 21st century Senser. Loud, brash and relevant. Johnny just take it easy.
