The legendary drum and bass pioneer lands at the Hare and Hounds in November. Rising to prominence as part of Bristol’s thriving nineties dance culture with the likes of DJ Krust and DJ Die with whom he went on to form Full Cycle Records and subsequently Reprazent. A born innovator Size would mix jazz, funk and soul into his shows evolving fully the sound that exploded onto the New Forms album. There has never been a drum and bass album quite like it. The best selling single from it ‘Brown Paper Bag’ signalled a revolution in dance; mixing a ballsy cerebral hypnotism, that can still melt any dance floor, with a deeply forged monster bass riff. Sophisticated and still banging. It’s been a quiet few years but new EP with Krust ‘Past and Present’ is a tangle of brutal rhythms and shows the magical junglist touch is still there. Roni will be performing a two hour set and is joined by MC Conrad. Legend.
