Legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong presents a Balearic homage to the sun-drenched sounds of Ibiza. Coming off the back of a breathtaking performance at the BBC Proms last year that saw the cavernous Royal Albert Hall reverberate with the sound of classic dance anthems backed by a sixty-piece orchestra, the Ibiza Classics tour originally wasn’t even supposed to be a tour. Intended as a one-off show at London’s O2 Arena, this standalone spectacle was soon extended to Manchester and then to Birmingham as ticket sales went through the roof. Joining forces with Pete Tong to make Ibiza Classics happen are the Heritage Orchestra, a bold, unconventional group of musicians who are emphatically no stranger to performing to large arenas full of people. The glue holding this ingenious performance together is Jules Buckley, whose daring approach to conducting has led him to work with the likes of Goldie and Basement Jaxx, amongst others. Together, this talented triumvirate of visionaries makes sure that November 30 is a night that concertgoers won’t be forgetting in a hurry.
