Being the Northernmost band in the UK is some claim to fame and probably something Neon Waltz wished writers would stop commenting on, we’re sorry boys but being the biggest band from John O’Groats is pretty special. The band, dubbed ‘Scotland’s coolest new gang’ by the NME, make a heavy hitting indie wall of noise touched with a delicate psychedelic edge. An excellent live band and if they can make the trek from the tip of the UK (they’re actually travelling from Aldershot but even so…) to the Hare and Hounds, then the least you can do is make the effort to jump on the no. 50 bus to catch them. Also appearing are local buzz saw riot merchants The Hungry Ghosts, who seem to finally be receiving the attention their sophisticated splatter blues deserves. The subtle sonic meddling of Tom Ward’s Alfresco Love Sounds completes a strong bill.
