Before the Human League became eighties synth-pop behemoths they were experimentally obscure tech heads as obsessed with computers as they were with synthesizers. That all changed in 1980. Original members Martyn Hare and Ian Craig Marsh jumped ship to form their own electro pop juggernaut the Clockwork Orange inspired Heaven 17 and production company British Electric Federation. Both are coming to Birmingham. H17 will not only be performing new electronic arrangements of their classic debut album ‘Penthouse and Pavement’ in full, but for the first time ever B. E. F will be performing live with a host of guest stars. Once banned by the BBC and now included in ‘1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die’, the album is now rightly regarded as a classic. Appearing with B. E. F will be Sex Pistol Glen Matlock, the Farms’s Peter Hooton and Miss Beehive herself Mari Wilson. Two classic shows in one. Unlock that funky chaindance people.
