Ten days of hilarity that sees an incredible 70 events all across the city. If you can’t find something amusing among this lot then you should probably get a doctor to check your pulse. There is the usual expert mix of established performers and emerging talent. The main event is Romesh Ranganathan; who introduces his new ‘Irrational’ show to The Town Hall for two nights of razor sharp punchlines, of the other big hitters Jason Byrne brings his kinetic high energy scatter gun comedy to The Town Hall too, the innovative Simon Munnery’s new show “Standing Still” at the mac includes “an opening to die for” so don’t be late and the enigmatically frank Kerry Godliman performs ‘Stick or Twist’ at The Glee Club. From the emerging talent appearing we’re most looking forward to seeing Birmingham’s own and self confessed second funniest human ‘bean’ in his own house Moses Ali Khan. It’s not just stand up. We are off the charts excited at the prospect of seeing the comedy genius of Laurel and Hardy on the big screen at the mac in three nautical themed films. Be careful though, as Mr Laurel once so wisely observed “I heard the sea is infatuated with sharks”.
