The cacophony of beautiful noise made by late eighties 4AD darlings Throwing Muses was the result of Hersh’s feminist angst, schizophrenia and a unique way of hearing that was the result of a childhood traffic accident. She has always been empowered by her characteristics and used them throughout her music and writing. Her solo work is extensive and impressive exploring a myriad of themes such as the personal; listen to the raw and painful ‘The Letter’ from debut album ‘Hips and Makers’ and try not to cry, to the surreal, try ‘Delicate Cutters’ from Throwing Muses’ debut album. A beautiful and rare vocal talent that commands attention and we can’t recommend her highly enough.  Read the dreamy memoir ‘Rat Girl’ and then get your ticket for this show.
