Since 2015 Kings Heath Action for Refugees has been raising awareness and funds to help ease the rapacious humanitarian crises around the world that are driving people from their homes and countries to seek shelter and safety elsewhere. The catastrophic human consequence of Western military adventures stare out from the frightened eyes of families aboard overcrowded dinghies in the Mediterranean. Thanks to groups like KHAR it is possible for individuals to swerve tabloid extremism and grab the facts, get involved and maybe donate some cash, however small. It all helps. With that in mind come and spend Sunday afternoon at Kings Heath’s beautiful Highbury Park and help out a very worthy cause. With music, spoken word, open mic, food and craft events all lined up there’s something for everyone. Monies raised will be going to the Aegean Solidarity Network, check out their important work here.
