Forced Entertainment can somewhat live up to their name, certainly entertaining, with tonnes of comedy and pratfalls and costumes (in this case, chicken costumes), but both the audience and scenarios are forced into places that we definitely weren’t expecting. Specialists in stretching ideas, concepts, jokes, and scenes until they fall apart, reform into something else brand new, and show us something entirely different from where we began – Forced Entertainment are a group of performers and creatives adept at treading a fine line that often has audiences in fits of laughter and lost in thought at the same time. The real target in Real Magic is our favourite game shows, but can we ever win against fixed odds, even if we are given all of the right answers?
