Colossloth at Centrala
It’s all getting a bit weird down at Digbeth’s premier arts hangout tonight. Leicester’s experimental noiseniks Colossloth make a doom laden racket worthy of their name, a jackhammer trawl through industrial soundscapes that will beguile and befuddle. An incredibly eclectic four band bill is completed by Clear Degrade, Voyd and Steckdose.

French Pop & Yé-Yé Night at The Sunflower Lounge
We said yeah yeah but the sublimely cooler French said yé-yé and a genre of Gallic orientated pop sophistication was born, characterised by artists such as Serge Gainsbourg, Françoise Hardy and the impish France Gall who sadly passed away this month. Playback at The mac, Birmingham
Drag queens, super-heroes, job centres, zombies, talking goldfish and radioactive snails, this interactive short film based exhibition allows the viewer to choose films spanning a variety of stories from teenage love to dance choreography and quirky animated treats. Playback showcases the talent of over 200 young filmmakers from across the country many of the films were shot in or around Birmingham and are set to tour the country in partnership with Channel 4 Random Acts. Catch this display of innovative, young artists’s work locally until the end of Jan.
