Club: Heritage at Flave
What an incredible mashup this promises to be. Solihull’s swanky new twenties themed cocktail bar hosting the finest purveyors of House classics in Birmingham, Heritage Nights. Tonight Heritage are letting their ‘homegrown’ residents off the leash with Alex Hammond, Chris Wyatt, Jp Shields and Will Letterese providing the beats as you sip on Bellini’s till the early hours.

Gig: GorillaBot at The Dark Horse
The oldest band in the known universe, being formed ten thousand years ago when some random static zappery forged an unsettling triumvirate of robot, monkey and wrestler. That bizarre musical alliance continues several millennia later with Ben Bot, El Bajo and J’Rilla making the kind of otherworldly funk disco punk noise that could only come from such disparate influences. We guarantee you haven’t seen a live band like this, your jaws will undoubtedly drop as your brain tries to make sense of the demented spectacle. Check out GorillaBot’s latest video here
Fri 9 Mar 9pm at The Dark Horse, 145 Alcester Rd, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8JP. www.darkhorsemoseley.co.uk

Love is the Message at The Dark Horse
The disco balls will be spinning at maximum nostalgia overload this weekend as two of Birmingham’s most renowned DJs, Sam Redmore and Luke Ferguson, take revellers back to the heady days of the slick and sleazy 1970s New York clubbing scene. The Loft and Paradise Garage re-lived upstairs at The Dark Horse, Moseley. What more could you want?

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Digbeth goes green on Sunday as St. Paddy’s mania takes hold in a tradition dating back to 1952 as an eclectic collection of floats, bands, tractors and Chinese dragons march down Digbeth High Street. There’s live music at the The St Pat Rock’s stage and the usual array of bars, food stalls, a funfair and even a petting zoo for the kids. Note, wearing a big green hat is not compulsory.

The Mighty Craic! St Patrick’s Parade Day Party at The Night Owl
Definitely the pick of the free events complementing the parade and far enough away from the chaotic epicentre of it to offer a more relaxed vibe. Impossible to not have a great time at The Night Owl and with Ash Sheehan pumping out tunes with an Irish flavour, tired parade punters can catch their second wind and carry on the craic till the early hours. Family friendly till 8pm with a bbq, from 8.01pm DJs Mazzy and Cassie up the party ante and get things really moving for the adults.
