Arts: Digbeth First Friday
Amongst the many funky, free and fabulously flamboyant arts treasures to be experienced at this month’s Digbeth First Friday are collections of new work by the two artists Katarzyna Perlak and Khadija von Zinnenburg Carroll, both exploring the migrant condition through their work. Zinnenburg Carroll’s ‘Men in Waiting’ consists of a performance which will incorporate shadow, puppetry and spoken word, her work is the final result of a three year project. Perlak’s work constitutes a sound installation that was previously displayed at the 57th Venice Biennale. Both works promise to be truly thought provoking spectacles of innovative creativity and deeply moving immersive experiences. (HB)
