Club: Josh Herring’s Italo Disco at The Dark Horse
A whole evening of hi-nrg Italian dance music is just the thing to get your weekend off to the best possible start. When the world began to forget about disco, down in Southern Europe the funky beats kept pumping, thanks mainly to the efforts of German record label ZYX. Cheesy, glitzy and always pumped up with an enormous grin, strap in because you will be dancing, its rocket groove is irresistible. Josh Herring will be performing new tracks inspired by possibly the friendliest genre in world dance music.
Fri 9 Feb 9pm at The Dark Horse, 145 Alcester Rd, Birmingham B13 8JP www.darkhorsemoseley.co.uk
Club: Lost Society at The Hare and Hounds
Those progressive techno boffins Lost Society rock up at Kings Heath for their first show in a year, pumping out hard beats for four years, hopefully this is the start of regular parties for them at The Hare and Hounds. Local DJ royalty including Russell Priest, Andrew Sharpe and Phillip Blackwell will be keeping things moving till 3am.

Club: Format at Lab 11
It must be the weekend for returning club legends with Lost Society taking over the Hare and Hounds after a year away and now those lovely minimal house wizards Format returning to the city after two years away for a relaunch at Lab 11. Always a top class atmosphere in the dark beat wasteland of Lab 11, with the Format crew pumping out the tunes it just might get a little wild in there.

Gig: Melotone, Dead Summers, Flares & Shaun Gambowl and the Plagiarists at Get the Fear
Roll up the shutters and fill your carrier bags with beer, it’s another byo booze party down at Digbeth’s best kept secret Get the Fear. Dead Summers are not only bringing their chemical fused sonic rock along but also a camera crew to film the whole event. It’s a wonderfully eclectic line up that includes funk messengers Melotone, the lo-fi indie noodling of Flares and the most hated band in Birmingham, nay the world (probably), as Shaun Gambowl and the Plagiarists get all shouty and snotty with a sharp Brummie twang.
Sat 10 Feb 7.45pm at Get the Fear, Bordesley Street, Digbeth B5 5PL www.facebook.com

Stunning DJ lineup featuring DJ C, DJ Bubble and Hypo amongst others with emceeing from Destroyer and Yoda. Rave on. Valentine’s week inbound so the dress code loved up.
