Gig: Die Das Der & The Catapult Club present Tim Smith fundraiser at The Cuban Embassy
One of the most influential musicians you’ve never heard of, Tim Smith fronted the wilfully eccentric sonic terrorists The Cardiacs before suffering a cardiac arrest and brain damage in 2008. Their prog-rock punk and bizarre live shows were legendary, more theatre than gig, and influenced a raft of musicians such as Radiohead, Blur, Napalm Death and Faith No More. The Just Giving page is only three grand shy of the hundred thousand needed to treat Tim for a year. Get down to The Cuban Embassy, hear some great local bands including Ghosts of Dead Airplanes and The Crooked Hooks, and dig deep for an underrated musical icon.
