Arts: Crit Club with Dinosaur Kilby at Vivid Projects
The second Crit Club of 2018 features local multimedia guerilla Dinosaur Kilby (aka Thomas Kilby) whose previous collaborative work has included art produced with Kühle Wampe and taking part in Stryx’s Slow Cooker Residency Programme. The artist will be previewing his new film Exiting The Vampire Castle.

Arts: IYP Fanzine & Showcase Launch at Ikon
The Ikon Youth Programme launches its limited edition fanzine The Cut which utilises the hand printing techniques of Ming de Nasty’s eighties fanzine Raw Eggs that explored feminism, activism and music. The IYP is for young people aged 16-21 who meet regularly to make artwork, work with professional artists, host events and develop their own projects. The launch includes live music.

Gig: Funeral Shakes at Subside
Some good old floor shaking bluesey rock and roll and a nice line in dapper shirts as Funeral Shakes head to Digbeth to headline a strong lineup Thursday night. Their recently released self-titled debut album is a corker, when Funeral Shakes hit the fast lane there is no stopping them. Local indie punkers Wood and Nails will be appearing as will Welsh rockers Frown Upon.
