Back for its third year and taking place over three days at the beautifully refurbished Gunmakers Arms, The Brum Vegan Beer Festival is looking better than ever. With ten breweries already signed up and with more to be confirmed your tankards are going to be overflowing with the good stuff. House brewers Two Towers are still our favourites, see if you can sneak a peek at their onsite brewery. The Real Junk Food Project will be weaving their culinary magic on Friday and on Saturday it’s the turn of South African fusion food purveyors Ubuntu.

Hip hop arts launch at The Old Print Works
Showing off some seriously precocious arts talent, Pharaoh is a 19 year old illustrator with a rapidly gathering following, an exciting exhibition of his work already on display in conjunction with innovative urban record label Punch Records, magazine work, and a hand in the Brits 2017 website.

Gordon Giltrap at The Diskery
Legendary guitarist Gordon Giltrap drops into one of Birmingham’s finest vinyl emporium’s to play a short acoustic set on Saturday afternoon. In a career spanning five decades, including 22 studio albums, Giltrap’s eclectic drift through several styles has been highly influential on generations of guitarists. Giltrap will be signing copies of his latest record ‘Last of England’ following the performance.

Heducation Free Party at The Dark Horse
Back with another one of those block rockin’ beats. It’s Heducation time at the school of funk and breaks down in Moseley. Local turntablist hero Mike Lazy heads up a roster of  DJ’s that includes head Hedz resident DJ Mylz that will be taking you on a mash up through the choicest Hip Hop, beats, breaks and funk.

Simmer Down Festival in Handsworth Park
