Now in its third year the wonderful JQ Festival is the perfect opportunity for curious adventurer’s to go and explore one of Birmingham’s most thriving districts. The weekend is alive with music, comedy, art and exquisite street food lined up by the ever expanding Digbeth Dining Club. Kicking off Friday at Golden Square, Kings Heath housewife Barbara Nice is your compere through an evening featuring the soulful Jake Henry and rounded off with drag performer Annabelle Lector. On Saturday and Sunday the entertainment is spread across the Square’s Golden and St. Paul’s, with a wildly eclectic array of acts performing, check out the full guide here. We’re most excited to see the impossible acrobatics of Circus Mash whose gravity defying stunts will be making audiences dizzy on both days. Apparently there’s Scalextric for the kids somewhere; see you there, vroom vroom.
