In the beautifully quaint gem of the City Centre, Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter Festival will play host to the rich culture of some of Birmingham greatest offerings. Hosted by Birmingham comedienne Ms Barbara Nice, Aston Performing Arts Academy will open with performances on Friday from 4pm,rounding off the evening with a burlesque show, and afterparty at the Rose Villa Tavern. Then picking up the excitement on Saturday from 11am, festival goers can find themselves taking the reins with a range of activities including the Mad Science workshop, face painting and unlimited rides on the Helter Skelter. Also not to be missed are the CircusMASH performances and Live music at the grand band stand from Birmingham’s jazz legends. If on Sunday, you’re still feeling like a bit of a dance, the band stand will be open throughout Sunday while Urban Cyclist will be on hand to walk cycling enthusiasts through all of their cycle woes. Throughout the weekend, visitors to the festival will be able to learn more about the Jewellery Quarter, from it’s craftsmen and women and the artists who inhabit it. And tours will be available to it’s many haunts, including the Newman Brother’s Coffin Works, art galleries and flight simulators. The festival runs from the 22nd until the 24th of July.
