IDLES are tearing up trees at the moment. Only last week Steve Lamacq recommended them on his show proclaiming them one of the discoveries of 2016 and lauding their ‘uncompromising pop’. Pop doesn’t quite seem a hard enough word for IDLES tough battering ram of clued up lyrics and chainsaw noise though. The Bristol boys are going places and you can see them tonight for a few quid with three other bands. Get in. Also on the bill are local hardcore slackers Wax Futures, Birmingham’s own Ghosts of Dead Airplanes and 3LegsForward. Four bands for the price of a couple of pints. All hail the promoters for giving us such value for money. Get yourselves down there and do the IDLES chant. As they might say: ‘Don’t like my friends? They’re for me.’
